Every Muslim in the world faces one direction in prayer, and gathers in one kind of building to pray together. This chapter explains the Qibla and the Kaaba, describes the Masjid and its Imam and Muezzin, teaches Masjid manners, and introduces Jumu'ah, Taraweeh and Eid.
The Qibla is the direction Muslims face in prayer: towards the Kaaba in Makkah. The Kaaba is the first house built for worshipping Allah. Wherever we are in the world, we all face one Qibla — that unites Muslims.
One direction for the whole world is a powerful idea. A Muslim in Pakistan, another in Egypt and another in Indonesia all turn to the same Kaaba — different languages, different clothes, one Qibla, one Ummah.
A Masjid is the house of Allah where Muslims pray together. The Imam leads the prayer, and the Muezzin calls the Adhan. In Pakistan, children go to the Masjid with their fathers, especially for Jumu'ah (Friday prayer) and Taraweeh in Ramadan.
✏️ Example: ✏️ Example / مثال: Find the Qibla at home: ask a parent or check the Masjid's direction. Stand on a prayer mat facing it and pray — now you know your Qibla direction.
A Masjid is more than a building with a dome. It is where a neighbourhood becomes a family: strangers stand shoulder to shoulder, the Imam leads, the Muezzin calls, and children learn by watching their fathers pray.
Enter with the right foot, say the dua, and keep shoes in their place. Walk calmly, do not shout or run, and do not disturb people praying. Keep the Masjid clean — it is Allah's house.
Masjid manners are really manners for Allah's house. The right foot first, shoes in place, a quiet voice and a calm walk — each one says, without words, that this place is honoured and the people praying in it are honoured too.
On Fridays, Muslims gather for Jumu'ah prayer with a Khutbah (sermon). In Ramadan, Taraweeh is prayed at night. On Eid, Muslims pray Eid prayer together, wear new clothes, meet family and share happiness.
Jumu'ah, Taraweeh and Eid are the year's big gatherings, and each has its own colour. Friday brings the Khutbah, Ramadan nights bring Taraweeh, and Eid brings new clothes and shared happiness — the calendar itself teaches joy in worship.
One Qibla, one Ummah: the Kaaba unites us, and the Masjid gathers us in prayer.
One Qibla, one Ummah: the Kaaba unites us in direction, and the Masjid gathers us in prayer.
