📌 ماخذ: یہ باب سرکاری پی سی ٹی بی انگریزی جماعت 4 کی کتاب سے بنایا گیا ہے۔ سبق کا خلاصہ اور وضاحت گائیڈ کے اپنے الفاظ میں ہے، کتاب کا متن نقل نہیں کیا گیا۔ مشق کے سوالات کتاب کی مشق کے انداز پر ہیں اور جوابات گائیڈ کے حل شدہ نمونہ جوابات ہیں۔
This unit tells The Journey of Chocolate: where chocolate comes from, how it is made, and why children love it. Chocolate has been famous for almost 2000 years. It comes from cocoa trees, and its journey from a pod on a tree to a sweet in a shop is long and interesting.
یہ سبق چاکلیٹ کا سفر بتاتا ہے: چاکلیٹ کہاں سے آتی ہے، کیسے بنتی ہے، اور بچے اسے کیوں پسند کرتے ہیں۔ چاکلیٹ تقریباً 2000 سال سے مشہور ہے۔ یہ کوکو کے درختوں سے آتی ہے، اور درخت کی پھلی سے دکان کی مٹھائی تک اس کا سفر لمبا اور دلچسپ ہے۔
Chocolate comes from cocoa trees. The flowers of a cocoa tree grow on the trunk of the tree, not on its branches. These flowers grow throughout the year. When the fruit is ripe, people pick the pods. Each pod contains 20 to 40 beans.
After the pods are collected, the beans are taken out, dried in the sun and sent to factories. There the beans are roasted in a big oven, the shells are removed, and the nibs are roasted and mixed with sugar to make a paste. The paste is poured into big trays, dried and made into chocolate. Chocolate is a good source of vitamins and minerals, but eating too much chocolate is not good for health, and we should always brush our teeth after eating chocolate.
Contain means to hold someone or something inside. Reddish means slightly red. Pod means a seed shell. Heap means a bundle or pile, and solid means hard.
An anagram is a word that is made by re-arranging the letters of another word. For example: study → dusty, night → thing, race → care, part → trap. Make anagrams from the given words and write them in your notebook.
A diphthong is a combination of two vowel sounds in one syllable: the sound begins with one vowel sound and moves towards another, as in boy, now and pair. Read the given sentences with diphthongs aloud.
In speaking, practise the dialogue between Rohna and Minsa about food: Good morning, Minsa. How are you? I am fine, thank you. Do you like eating chocolate? No, I do not. I prefer having a banana instead of eating chocolate. Then express your own likes and dislikes, and read the survey of children's favourite foods: a pie chart and a bar graph show how many children like chocolate, juice, candy and chewing gum.
Diphthong ایک ہی حصے میں دو حروف علت کی آوازوں کا مجموعہ ہے: آواز ایک حرف علت سے شروع ہو کر دوسری کی طرف جاتی ہے، جیسے boy, now اور pair میں۔ ڈفتھانگ والے جملے بلند آواز سے پڑھو۔
بولنے میں روحنا اور منسا کے کھانے کے بارے میں مکالمے کی مشق کرو: Good morning, Minsa. How are you? I am fine, thank you. Do you like eating chocolate? No, I do not. I prefer having a banana instead of eating chocolate. پھر اپنی پسند ناپسند بتاؤ، اور بچوں کی پسندیدہ کھانوں کا سروے پڑھو: پائی چارٹ اور بار گراف بتاتے ہیں کہ کتنے بچے چاکلیٹ، جوس، کینڈی اور چیونگم پسند کرتے ہیں۔
Regular nouns form their plural by adding s or es: chocolate → chocolates, plant → plants, dish → dishes. Irregular nouns do not follow this pattern: tooth → teeth, foot → feet, goose → geese, man → men, mouse → mice, child → children.
Prepositions of position tell us where something is: under, around, between, over and up. Examples: The rabbit is under the bed. Our school is between the park and the market. The cat is sitting on the wall. The aeroplane is flying over the clouds. Also use capital letters for the names of days and months, like Today is Wednesday.
Regular nouns کی جمع s یا es لگا کر بنتی ہے: chocolate → chocolates, plant → plants, dish → dishes۔ Irregular nouns اس اصول پر نہیں چلتے: tooth → teeth, foot → feet, goose → geese, man → men, mouse → mice, child → children۔
جگہ کی حروف جار بتاتی ہیں کہ چیز کہاں ہے: under, around, between, over اور up۔ مثالیں: The rabbit is under the bed. Our school is between the park and the market. The cat is sitting on the wall. The aeroplane is flying over the clouds. دنوں اور مہینوں کے نام بھی بڑے حروف سے لکھو، جیسے Today is Wednesday۔
A recipe tells us how to make a dish: first the title, then the ingredients, then the steps in order. Example, Chicken Cheese Sandwich: slices of bread, boiled chicken, lettuce leaves and cheese. First toast the bread, then put the chicken and cheese on one slice, cover it with the other slice and serve.
Now write your own recipe for a Chocolate Milkshake (chocolate bar, milk, sugar), and then write a paragraph about your favourite food and the reason you like it. Use joining words and capital letters correctly.
