This unit is about Good Study Habits. Miss Hina asked her students to make a poster about good study habits, and the class learned that all good students follow these habits: set goals, make notes, revise, do homework on time and ask teachers when you do not understand. Good habits help us become better students.
Last week, Miss Hina told her students to make a poster about good study habits. The students worked together and made a beautiful poster: Set your goals for study. Take interest in your study. Make notes in your notebooks. Work on the topic you find the most difficult. Revise your work at the weekend. Do not spend too much time watching TV. Get information from books, your teachers and parents.
One student tried to adopt all these habits within a few days. In the final term, he got first position in his class. His parents arranged a party for him, and he invited his friends. The lesson is: good habits, followed every day, bring success.
Set your goals for study. Take interest in your study. Make notes in your notebooks. Work on the topic you find the most difficult. Revise your work at the weekend. Do not spend too much time watching TV. Get information from books, your teachers and parents.
Timetable means a planner or schedule. Celebrate means to do something special to show happiness. Display means to show, and invite means to request someone to attend an event.
Adjectives in this unit: new, fresh, obedient, dutiful, great, amazing, silent, quiet. Fill in the missing letters to complete the words: im__rove, __isplay, p__ster, cel__brate, arran__e. Then use the adjectives in sentences of your own.
A short vowel sound is a vowel sound said quickly, like the a in man and can, the e in set and let, the i in pill and hill, the o in pot and hot, and the u in cub and hub. Make two words with each short vowel sound.
In speaking, practise the dialogue between a father and his son about homework and time: Father: Listen, my son. Where have you been for the last two hours? Son: Baba, I have been playing in the playground with my friends. Father: Oh no, I forgot I have a test tomorrow. What will I do now? Father: I am sorry, Baba. I will be careful next time. Then get into pairs and express regret about your own mistakes.
مختصر حروف علت کی آواز وہ آواز ہے جو جلدی بولی جائے، جیسے man اور can میں a، set اور let میں e، pill اور hill میں i، pot اور hot میں o، اور cub اور hub میں u۔ ہر مختصر آواز سے دو الفاظ بناؤ۔
Father: Listen, my son. Where have you been for the last two hours? Son: Baba, I have been playing in the playground with my friends. Father: Oh no, I forgot I have a test tomorrow. What will I do now? Father: I am sorry, Baba. I will be careful next time.
Subject pronouns do the action: I, we, you, he, she, it, they (I love Allah. We study together. You like Ali.). Object pronouns receive the action: me, us, you, him, her, it, them (Allah loves me. Come, study with us. Ali likes you.).
Possessive pronouns show ownership: mine, yours, ours, theirs, his, hers, its (The bag is yours. You forgot to take it with you. These shoes are ours. We work here. That old car is mine. I have sold it. It is his book, not hers. That orchard is theirs.). Can / cannot and may / may not ask and give permission: Can I go to the park? May I use your pencil? Adverbs tell how something happens: My mother speaks politely. The birthday party was decorated beautifully. She cleans the room hurriedly. The old woman walked slowly.
I, we, you, he, she, it, they (I love Allah. We study together. You like Ali.)۔ مفعولی ضمیر کام وصول کرتے ہیں: me, us, you, him, her, it, them (Allah loves me. Come, study with us. Ali likes you.)۔
ملکیتی ضمیر ملکیت ظاہر کرتے ہیں: mine, yours, ours, theirs, his, hers, its (The bag is yours. You forgot to take it with you. These shoes are ours. We work here. That old car is mine. I have sold it. It is his book, not hers. That orchard is theirs.)۔ Can / cannot اور may / may not اجازت مانگنے اور دینے کے لیے ہیں: Can I go to the park? May I use your pencil? My mother speaks politely. The birthday party was decorated beautifully. She cleans the room hurriedly. The old woman walked slowly.
To write a short invitation, write who it is for, the date, time and location, and your name at the end. Example: Dear Asif, I want to celebrate my success in my final exams and I am arranging a party on this Friday evening at my home. You are invited to join us. It will be great fun. Hope to see you on Friday. Your friend, Maheen.
Then write a short note accepting the invitation, and make a chart of classroom rules for your own class: listen to the teacher, raise your hand, keep the class clean, help your classmates and do your homework on time.
Dear Asif, I want to celebrate my success in my final exams and I am arranging a party on this Friday evening at my home. You are invited to join us. It will be great fun. Hope to see you on Friday. Your friend, Maheen.
