ENGLISH

Wahi is Allah's message sent to a prophet through Jibrail. The first Wahi came to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in the Cave of Hira, in Ramadan, when he was 40 years old. The first words were 'Iqra' — Read! — in the name of your Lord.

Read this opening slowly, then close the page and say the main point in your own words. If you can do that without looking, you have understood it; if a word stops you, that word is the one to learn first, and the rest will follow easily.

ENGLISH

Wahi — Allah's message to a prophet.

Ghar-e-Hira — the cave where the first Wahi came.

Iqra — the first word: Read!.

Do not just read these meanings; use each word in a sentence of your own. A word you have used once is yours; a word you have only read is easy to forget in the exam hall.

Iqra —

The Prophet used to think and worship in the Cave of Hira before the first revelation came.

Look around you and find one more example of your own, then tell it to a friend in your own words.

Now find a second example from your own day. It does not have to be big; a small, true example that you saw yourself is worth more in an answer than a long one copied from a book.

Read this section twice, because it answers the question every student asks sooner or later: why should I learn this? A lesson that changes how you live is worth more than a lesson that only fills a page in a notebook.
