2. Vocabulary: Phrasal Verbs and Idiomsالفاظ: فریز اور محاورات
🏷 Tags: vocabulary, phrasal verbs, idioms
ENGLISH

Phrasal verbs are a verb + a small word (up, out, off, on) that together give a new meaning: give up (stop trying), look after (take care of), run out (finish), put off (delay), blow up (get angry). Idioms are phrases whose meaning is different from the words: 'a piece of cake' (very easy), 'break the ice' (start a conversation), 'once in a blue moon' (very rarely), 'lend a hand' (help), 'to bite the dust' (to fail).

اردو

فریز فعل + چھوٹا لفظ (up, out, off, on) ہوتا ہے جو مل کر نیا معنی دیتا ہے: give up (کوشش چھوڑنا)، look after (دیکھ بھال کرنا)، run out (ختم ہونا)، put off (ملتوی کرنا)۔ محاورات وہ جملے ہیں جن کا معنی الفاظ سے مختلف ہوتا ہے: 'a piece of cake' (بہت آسان)، 'break the ice' (گفتگو شروع کرنا)، 'once in a blue moon' (کبھی کبھار)، 'to bite the dust' (ناکام ہونا)۔

Phrasal verbs se samjho: Verb + چھوٹا لفظ = نیا معانی — give up, look after سمجھو.
3. Grammar: Adjectives, Pronoun Agreement, Sentences, Gerund, Participleقواعد: صفات، ضمیر کا میل، جملے، جیرنڈ
🏷 Tags: grammar, adjectives, pronoun agreement, gerund, participle
ENGLISH

Adjectives describe nouns: brave soldier, tall building, sweet mango. Types: descriptive, quantitative, demonstrative, possessive. Pronoun-antecedent agreement: the pronoun must match its noun in number and gender — 'Ahmed lost his book.' 'The girls did their homework.'

Simple sentences have one idea; compound sentences join two ideas with and, but, or. A gerund is a verb + -ing used as a noun ('Swimming is healthy.'). A participle is a verb form used as an adjective ('a broken chair', 'a smiling child'). The past continuous tense (was/were + verb-ing) describes an action in progress in the past: 'He was fighting bravely when he was injured.'

اردو

صفات اسم کی وضاحت کرتی ہیں: brave soldier, tall building, sweet mango۔ اقسام: بیانی، مقداری، اشاری، ملکیتی۔ ضمیر کا میل: ضمیر اپنے اسم سے عدد اور جنس میں میل کھائے — 'Ahmed lost his book.' 'The girls did their homework.'

سادہ جملہ ایک خیال رکھتا ہے؛ مرکب جملہ دو خیالات کو and, but, or سے جوڑتا ہے۔ جیرنڈ فعل + -ing ہے جو اسم کے طور پر استعمال ہوتا ہے ('Swimming is healthy.')۔ پارٹیسپل فعل کی شکل ہے جو صفت کے طور پر استعمال ہوتی ہے ('a broken chair', 'a smiling child')۔

4. Writing and Punctuation: Explanatory Paragraphتحریر اور رموز: وضاحتی پیراگراف
🏷 Tags: writing, explanatory paragraph, punctuation
ENGLISH

An explanatory paragraph explains something clearly: first say WHAT it is, then give reasons, examples and details, then end with a closing line. Example topic: 'Why is Shabbir Sharif a role model?' — explain his courage, his duty and his sacrifice with examples.

Use full stops, question marks and exclamation marks correctly, and check capitalisation before submitting your paragraph.
