This unit follows the official PCTB Class 6 English textbook (SNC 2022) — the unit title, theme, SLOs and scope-table skills are taken from the book. The practice questions below are written for this guide on the book's exercise pattern, with answers; they are not a verbatim copy of the book's exercise. No book page numbers are claimed.

1. Reading: Education is my Rightمطالعہ: تعلیم میرا حق ہے
🏷 Tags: education, right, girls, equality, children
ENGLISH

Education is the right of every child — boy or girl, rich or poor, city or village. An educated child can read, write, think and decide for himself. An educated girl becomes an educated mother, and an educated mother educates the whole family.

But many children, especially girls, still cannot go to school. Some work in fields or homes; some live too far from a school; some families think education is only for boys. This is wrong. Gender equality means boys and girls deserve the same chances. When we educate every child, the whole nation progresses.

Education
Education se samjho: ہر بچہ — لڑکا یا لڑکی — تعلیم کا حق دار ہے.
2. Vocabulary: Figurative Languageالفاظ: مجازی زبان
🏷 Tags: vocabulary, simile, metaphor, personification, hyperbole
ENGLISH

Figurative language says something in a beautiful, non-literal way: Simile compares with 'like' or 'as' ('as brave as a lion'). Metaphor compares directly without 'like' or 'as' ('He is a lion in battle.'). Personification gives human qualities to non-human things ('The wind whispered through the trees.'). Hyperbole is a big exaggeration ('I have told you a thousand times.').

اردو

مجازی زبان کسی بات کو خوبصورت، غیر حقیقی انداز میں کہتی ہے: تشبیہ 'like' یا 'as' سے موازنہ کرتی ہے ('as brave as a lion')۔ استعارہ بغیر 'like' یا 'as' کے سیدھا موازنہ کرتا ہے ('He is a lion in battle.')۔ تشخیص غیر انسانی چیزوں کو انسانی خصوصیات دیتی ہے ('The wind whispered through the trees.')۔ مبالغہ بڑی مبالغہ آرائی ہے ('I have told you a thousand times.')۔

Figurative se samjho: Simile, metaphor, personification, hyperbole — char figures samjho.
3. Grammar: Conjunctions, Apostropheقواعد: حروف عطف، سکتہ
🏷 Tags: grammar, coordination, subordination, compound, complex, apostrophe
ENGLISH

Coordination conjunctions (and, but, or, so, for, nor, yet) join equal ideas into compound sentences: 'She studied hard, so she passed.' Subordination conjunctions (because, although, when, if, since, while) join a dependent idea into a complex sentence: 'She passed because she studied hard.'

Apostrophe shows possession ('the girl's book', 'the boys' college', 'Keats' poetry') and contractions ('don't' = do not, 'can't' = cannot). Do not confuse possessive 'its' (no apostrophe) with 'it's' (= it is).

اردو

ربطی حروف عطف (and, but, or, so, for, nor, yet) برابر خیالات کو مرکب جملوں میں جوڑتے ہیں: 'She studied hard, so she passed.' ماتحت حروف عطف (because, although, when, if, since, while) منحصر خیال کو پیچیدہ جملے میں جوڑتے ہیں: 'She passed because she studied hard.'

سکتہ ملکیت ظاہر کرتا ہے ('the girl's book'، 'the boys' college'، 'Keats' poetry') اور مخففات ('don't' = do not، 'can't' = cannot)۔ ملکیتی 'its' (بغیر سکتے) کو 'it's' (= it is) سے الجھائیں نہیں۔

4. Writing: Informal Letter (Thank-you Letter, Envelope Address)تحریر: غیر رسمی خط (شکریہ کا خط، لفافے کا پتہ)
🏷 Tags: writing, informal letter, thank-you letter, envelope
ENGLISH

An informal letter is written to friends, family or people we know well. A thank-you letter thanks someone for help or a gift: begin with thanks, say what you received, say how happy it made you, and end warmly.

Envelope address: write the receiver's name and address clearly in the centre of the envelope, and your own name and address (return address) at the top left corner. Write clearly so the letter reaches the right person.

Thank you!
Thank-you letter se samjho: Shukriya, kya mila, kitni khushi — thank-you letter ka format samjho.
