🏷 Tags: Pakistan, Muslim world, OIC, ummah
ENGLISH

Pakistan is an Islamic republic in South Asia, created in 1947 as a homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent. It shares faith, history and culture with the wider Muslim world, which stretches from Morocco in the west to Indonesia in the east.

The Muslim world today has about 57 countries, most of them members of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) — the second-largest intergovernmental organisation after the United Nations.

2. Neighbours and Near Muslim Countries
🏷 Tags: Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey, neighbours, Gulf
ENGLISH

Pakistan's Muslim neighbours and near countries include Iran (west), Afghanistan (north-west), Turkey (further west), Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states (south-west), and Malaysia and Indonesia (south-east).

With these countries Pakistan shares trade, pilgrimage (Hajj and Umrah), labour migration, and cultural ties — from similar foods and dress to shared religious festivals.

3. Common Bonds
🏷 Tags: faith, Quran, Hajj, common bonds
ENGLISH

What binds the Muslim world together? Shared faith (Islam), the Quran, the Arabic of worship, the Hajj pilgrimage that gathers millions in Makkah, and a shared history from Andalusia to the Mughals.

These bonds are why a Pakistani feels at home in a mosque in Istanbul, Cairo or Kuala Lumpur: the prayer, the greeting and the scripture are the same.

4. Pakistan's Place and Role
🏷 Tags: bridge, South Asia, Central Asia, role
ENGLISH

Pakistan is the Muslim world's second-most populous country and its only nuclear-armed state — a fact the lesson notes as a source of responsibility, not pride alone. It hosts millions of Afghan refugees and is a frontline state for regional peace.

Its role: a bridge between South Asia, Central Asia and the Middle East, and an active voice in the OIC for Kashmir, Palestine and Muslim minorities.

5. Why Study Muslim Countries?
🏷 Tags: why study, unity, understanding
ENGLISH

Studying Muslim countries teaches students that Pakistan is not alone: its problems (poverty, illiteracy, water) are shared, and its strengths (youth, resources, faith) are shared too. Solutions can be shared as well.

Students end by picking one Muslim country to research — its capital, language, main product and one famous place — and presenting it to the class.

Answer / جواب

Any four: Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Gulf states, Malaysia, Indonesia.

Short Q3: Why is Pakistan called a bridge between regions?

Answer / جواب

Because it sits between South Asia, Central Asia and the Middle East, linking their trade and cultures.

LONG QUESTIONS

Long Q1: Explain why a Pakistani feels at home in a mosque in Istanbul or Cairo.

Answer / جواب

Because the prayer, greeting (Salam), scripture and rituals are the same everywhere in the Muslim world — shared faith makes a foreign mosque familiar.

Long Q2: Research one Muslim country: give its capital, language, main product and one famous place.

Answer / جواب

A good answer gives all four facts correctly for one country, e.g. Turkey: Ankara, Turkish, textiles/tourism, Hagia Sophia; or Egypt: Cairo, Arabic, cotton/tourism, Pyramids.

THINK & ANSWER

Think! 1: A classmate says Pakistan has nothing in common with faraway Muslim countries like Indonesia. Answer.

Answer / جواب

Shared faith, Quran, Hajj, festivals and history bind them despite distance — just as a Pakistani and an Indonesian recognise each other's prayer and greeting at once.
