The Quran uses the word Shahadat for testimony, and the one who gives it is called a Gawah (witness). Giving testimony when called is a duty — in the book's words, it is Wajib. For most matters, two men are required as witnesses.
Testimony has kinds: Aini Shahadat (what one saw with one's own eyes), Sam'i Shahadat (what one heard) and Hissi Shahadat (testimony based on the senses — seen and heard). Shahadat ala al-Shahada means testifying on the basis of another witness's testimony. Giving false testimony, or hiding true testimony, is a major sin: it destroys justice, harms the innocent, and its effects spread through society.
Huqooq al-Ibad means the rights of Allah's servants (people), as opposed to Huqooq Allah (rights of Allah). Among them, the rights of neighbours have a special place. The Quran mentions three kinds of neighbours: the neighbour who is also a relative, the distant neighbour, and the companion by one's side.
Hazrat Jibreel kept on advising the Holy Prophet ﷺ about the neighbour's rights so much that he thought the neighbour might be made an heir. The Hadith warns that the one whose neighbour is not safe from his harm does not have complete Iman. In Surah Al-Nisa, the rights of relatives are mentioned together with the rights of neighbours. Fulfilling neighbours' rights brings social harmony; neglecting them brings worldly and otherworldly loss.
Sood is called Riba in Arabic. Islam forbids it completely: Allah says He increases charity (Sadqaat) and destroys Sood. The Quran warns those who persist in Sood of war from Allah and His Messenger — one of the sternest warnings in the Quran.
Sood has worldly and social harms: it breeds greed, widens the gap between rich and poor, and kills mutual love and cooperation. Its lawful alternative is Qarz-e-Hasna — a goodly loan given to meet someone's need without any profit. The Hadith gives the one who gives Qarz-e-Hasna a reward of 18 times (compared to 10 times for charity), because a loan saves a person from begging.
Jihad fi Sabilillah means striving in the path of Allah. Its purpose is the establishment of peace and removing fitna and fasad from the earth — not the seizure of land, fame or revenge. Jihad was made obligatory in Madinah Munawwara.
Jihad has ranks: Jihad by wealth, by life, and Jihad bil-Lisan — speaking a word of truth before a tyrant ruler. A Muslim must understand Jihad's true concept and teach it to others, so that no one misuses it: in 2018, Pakistan's scholars issued a joint declaration against terrorism known as Paigham-e-Pakistan. The state must also prepare its strength so that it can defend Islam, the country, and the life, property and honour of Muslims.
