This revised page was built from the existing Class 9 Mathematics library chapter (chapter-6-complete-guide-book.html) in the same series. No official Class 9 Mathematics book copy was on disk for a fresh page-by-page check (the books are with the user), so no book page numbers are claimed and the exercise below is carried over from the master chapter as given — selected solved questions plus SLO-based practice MCQs — not newly verified against the book and not presented as the official exercise. Answers follow the master chapter. All section figures on this page are self-made diagrams (no book pictures).

1. Angles in Standard Position: Degrees and Radians
🏷 Tags: angles, standard, position, degrees, radians
ENGLISH

An angle is formed by two rays with a common endpoint (vertex). In standard position, the vertex is at the origin and the initial side lies on the positive x-axis; rotation anticlockwise is positive.

Angles are measured in degrees (360° = full turn) or radians: 180° = π radians, so 1 radian ≈ 57.3°. Convert: radians = degrees × π/180; degrees = radians × 180/π. So 90° = π/2, 60° = π/3, 45° = π/4.

2. Pythagoras and the Ratios sin, cos, tanفیثاغورث اور نسبتیں sin، cos، tan

ENGLISH

In a right triangle with hypotenuse h: Pythagoras: a² + b² = h². For an acute angle θ: sin θ = opposite/hypotenuse, cos θ = adjacent/hypotenuse, tan θ = opposite/adjacent = sin θ / cos θ.

Memorise the special angles: sin 30° = 1/2, cos 30° = √3/2, tan 30° = 1/√3; sin 45° = cos 45° = 1/√2, tan 45° = 1; sin 60° = √3/2, cos 60° = 1/2, tan 60° = √3.

Ratio samjho: right triangle
4. Trigonometric Identities and Their Proofs
🏷 Tags: trigonometric, identities, their, proofs
ENGLISH

The fundamental identity comes from Pythagoras: dividing a² + b² = h² by h² gives sin²θ + cos²θ = 1. From it: 1 + tan²θ = sec²θ and 1 + cot²θ = cosec²θ, where sec θ = 1/cos θ, cosec θ = 1/sin θ, cot θ = 1/tan θ.

To prove an identity, start from one side (usually the harder one) and use known identities until it matches the other side — never move terms across '=' as if solving an equation. Example: (1 − cos²θ) = sin²θ follows at once from sin²θ + cos²θ = 1.
