ENGLISH

History is the story of the past. It tells us about great people, old buildings, and how Pakistan was made — the past is not gone, because its story still shapes the country we live in today.

Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah led the Muslims of the subcontinent, and Pakistan came into being on 14 August 1947. That date is the most important date in this chapter: learn it exactly, day, month and year.

ENGLISH

Three words, and one of them is a person you must never mix up. History — the story of the past. Quaid-e-Azam — the founder of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Independence — freedom to run one’s own country.

Link them in order: history is the story, Quaid-e-Azam is the leader of that story, and independence is what the story achieved — freedom to run our own country.

🏷 Tags: Lahore Resolution 1940, homeland
ENGLISH

One event from this story is famous in every history lesson: the Lahore Resolution of 1940 demanded a separate homeland for the Muslims. That demand, made years before independence, is the seed from which Pakistan grew.

Look around you and find one more example of your own — a building, a road name or a 14 August celebration that remembers this story — then tell it to a friend in your own words.

🏷 Tags: love country, learn from past
ENGLISH

Learning history teaches us to love our country and learn from the past. Love grows when you know what people sacrificed and built; learning grows when you see which choices worked and which did not.

That is why history is not just old dates. A child who knows how Pakistan was made understands why 14 August is celebrated — and why the country is worth caring for.

SHORT QUESTIONS
Short Q1. What is the main idea of 'History'?

Answer: History is the story of the past. It tells us about great people, old buildings, and how Pakistan was made. Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah led the Muslims of the subcontinent, and Pakistan came into being on 14 August 1947. سمجھنے کے لیے: the main idea is the story, the leader and the date — miss the date and the answer is incomplete.

Short Q2. Write the meanings of 'History' and 'Quaid-e-Azam'.

Answer: History: the story of the past. Quaid-e-Azam: the founder of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah. سمجھنے کے لیے: history is the subject, Quaid-e-Azam is the person — keep the two kinds separate.

Short Q3. Give one example from daily life related to 'History'.

Answer: The Lahore Resolution of 1940 demanded a separate homeland for the Muslims. سمجھنے کے لیے: this is the chapter’s own example — 1940 is the demand, 1947 is the result.

LONG QUESTIONS
Long Q1. Explain 'History' in your own words with examples.

Answer: History is the story of the past. It tells us about great people, old buildings, and how Pakistan was made. Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah led the Muslims of the subcontinent, and Pakistan came into being on 14 August 1947. The Lahore Resolution of 1940 demanded a separate homeland for the Muslims. سمجھنے کے لیے: build the answer like a timeline — 1940 demand, Jinnah’s leadership, 1947 Pakistan.

Long Q2. Why is 'History' important in our life? Give reasons.

Answer: Learning history teaches us to love our country and learn from the past. سمجھنے کے لیے: two reasons — love for the country, and lessons from what happened before.

THINK AND ANSWER (INQUISITIVE)
Think Q1. How would you explain 'History' to a younger brother or sister?

Answer: Start with the example: the Lahore Resolution of 1940 demanded a separate homeland for the Muslims. Then explain the key words: History means the story of the past; Quaid-e-Azam means the founder of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah. سمجھنے کے لیے: for a small child, a story with a hero (Quaid-e-Azam) and a date (1947) is easier than a definition alone.
