This revised page was built from the existing Class 6 Mathematics library master chapter (chapter-10-complete-guide-book.html) in the same series. No official Class 6 Mathematics book copy was on disk for a fresh page-by-page check, so no book page numbers are claimed and the exercise below is the master chapter's own SLO-based practice set — NOT the official textbook exercise (the master itself labels it SLO-based, not copied from the book). Section explanations and answers follow the master chapter; nothing has been invented to fill gaps.

1. Points, Lines and Angles
🏷 Tags: points, lines, angles
ENGLISH

A point marks a position. A line goes on for ever in both directions; a ray starts at a point and goes one way; a line segment has two endpoints.

An angle is formed by two rays meeting at a vertex, measured in degrees (°). A right angle is 90°, acute is less than 90°, obtuse is between 90° and 180°, straight is 180°.

2. Types of Angles and Pairs
🏷 Tags: types, angles, pairs
ENGLISH

Complementary angles add to 90° (e.g. 30° + 60°). Supplementary angles add to 180° (e.g. 110° + 70°). Vertically opposite angles, formed by two crossing lines, are equal.

When a transversal cuts parallel lines, corresponding angles are equal and alternate angles are equal. Parallel lines never meet.

3. Triangles
🏷 Tags: triangles
ENGLISH

Triangles by sides: equilateral (all sides equal, all angles 60°), isosceles (two sides equal), scalene (no sides equal). By angles: acute, right, obtuse.

Angle sum: the three angles of any triangle add to 180°. So if two angles are 50° and 60°, the third is 70°.

TrianglesEquilateral→Isosceles→Scalene→Sum 180°
Figure samjho: Triangle angles always add to 180°.
4. Quadrilaterals and Polygons
🏷 Tags: quadrilaterals, polygons
ENGLISH

Quadrilaterals have 4 sides and angle sum 360°: square (all sides equal, all angles 90°), rectangle (opposite sides equal, all angles 90°), parallelogram (opposite sides parallel and equal), trapezium (one pair parallel).

Polygons: pentagon (5 sides), hexagon (6), octagon (8). A regular polygon has all sides and angles equal.

5. Circles
🏷 Tags: circles
ENGLISH

A circle is the set of points at a fixed distance (radius, r) from a centre. Diameter d = 2r. Circumference = 2πr ≈ 2 × (22/7) × r. Area = πr².

Example: r = 7 cm → circumference ≈ 2 × (22/7) × 7 = 44 cm; area ≈ (22/7) × 49 = 154 cm².

SUMMARY

This chapter draws the basic shapes of geometry: points, lines and angles, angle types and pairs, triangles, quadrilaterals and polygons, and circles. Naming things exactly matters here, because the next chapters build every area and volume result on these names.

  • 1. Points, Lines and Angles: A point has no size, a line goes on forever both ways, a ray starts at a point, and a segment has two ends — say which one you mean.
  • 2. Types of Angles and Pairs: Angles are measured in degrees: acute under 90°, right exactly 90°, obtuse between 90° and 180°, straight 180°, and pairs like complementary and supplementary add to 90° and 180°.
  • 3. Triangles: Triangles are named by their sides and by their angles, and their three angles always add to 180° — use that to find a missing angle.
  • 4. Quadrilaterals and Polygons: Quadrilaterals and polygons are named by their sides: the angle sum grows by 180° for each extra side.
  • 5. Circles: A circle is all points at one fixed distance — the radius — from the centre; the diameter is twice the radius and passes through the centre.

Revision guidance: Draw every geometry question, label every known angle, and write the angle-sum fact you are using before calculating — a labelled diagram prevents most geometry mistakes.
