Source note / ذریعہ نوٹ: This revised page is built from the existing PunjabTest library chapter for this unit. The official Class 7 English textbook was not on disk for this build, so no official-book page coverage is claimed here and no official-book page numbers are given; no official status is claimed for the questions below, which are SLO-based practice questions from the library masters, with the masters' model answers (the English textbook prints no answer keys). The masters explain the unit's skills and themes; they do not reproduce the textbook's lesson text, and neither does this page. The masters follow the SNC English 7 unit list; the book's Review sections are revision pages and are not counted here as separate units. Urdu headings and the Urdu line on the banner are supplied translations for study help — the English textbook prints no Urdu subtitle.

1. The Man Who Made a Nation
🏷 Tags: Jinnah, Quaid-e-Azam, Karachi, 1876, lawyer, unity, nation
ENGLISH

Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the Quaid-e-Azam (Great Leader), was born in Karachi on 25 December 1876. A brilliant lawyer, he first worked for Hindu-Muslim unity, then concluded that Muslims needed a separate homeland to protect their faith, culture and rights.

Through the Muslim League, and with the famous slogan of the Pakistan Movement, he led a peaceful, constitutional struggle that ended in the creation of Pakistan on 14 August 1947.

2. Character: Honest, Firm, Hardworking
🏷 Tags: character, honesty, firm, hardworking, public money, justice
ENGLISH

Jinnah was famous for honesty: as a lawyer he never took a case he believed was unjust, and he never used public money for himself. He was firm — once he decided a thing was right, no pressure moved him — yet always polite and constitutional in method.

His motto for the nation, Faith, Unity, Discipline, was also the rule of his own life: faith in the cause, unity of the people, and discipline in work and conduct.

FaithUnityDiscipline
3. The Pakistan Movement
🏷 Tags: Pakistan Movement, Two-Nation Theory, Lahore Resolution, 1940
ENGLISH

The Pakistan Movement grew from the Two-Nation Theory: Muslims and Hindus were two separate nations with different religions, laws, heroes and cultures. The Lahore Resolution of 23 March 1940 demanded separate states for Muslims.

Jinnah united Muslims of all provinces and classes behind one demand. His speeches were logical, calm and legal — he won Pakistan at the negotiating table, not on the battlefield.

4. Grammar Focus: Articles
🏷 Tags: articles, a, an, the, vowel sound, known thing, leader
ENGLISH

Articles are small words with big jobs: 'a' and 'an' for any one thing ('a leader', 'an honest man'), 'the' for a known or special thing ('the Quaid', 'the nation'). Use 'an' before vowel sounds: 'an hour', 'an honest lawyer'.

No article is used for most names and for general ideas: 'Jinnah loved justice.' — not 'the justice' when we mean justice in general.

اردو

آرٹیکلز چھوٹے الفاظ ہیں جن کا کام بڑا ہے: 'a' اور 'an' کسی ایک چیز کے لیے ('a leader'، 'an honest man')، 'the' معلوم یا خاص چیز کے لیے ('the Quaid'، 'the nation')۔ مصوت آوازوں سے پہلے 'an' آتا ہے: 'an hour'، 'an honest lawyer'۔

Articles samjho: 'a/an' کسی ایک عام چیز کے لیے ('a leader', 'an honest man' — vowel sound سے پہلے 'an'), 'تھے' جانی ہوئی یا خاص چیز کے لیے ('تھے قائد', 'تھے nation').
a، an، the کا استعمال۔
5. Lessons from the Quaid's Lifeقائد کی زندگی سے سبق
🏷 Tags: lessons, hard work, law, unity, provinces, students
ENGLISH

Students learn three practical lessons: work hard and honestly, respect the law, and keep unity above personal or provincial differences. Jinnah worked even when ill, because the nation needed him.

The lesson ends by asking students what they would do to make Pakistan match the Quaid's dream: a country where every citizen, whatever their faith, is equal before the law.

Work hard→Respect law→Keep unity↓Equal citizens

Because a diverse country stays united only when minorities feel safe and equal; discrimination breaks unity, and unity was the Quaid's own first condition for progress.
