Source note / ذریعہ نوٹ: This revised page is built from the existing PunjabTest library chapter for this unit. The official Class 7 English textbook was not on disk for this build, so no official-book page coverage is claimed here and no official-book page numbers are given; no official status is claimed for the questions below, which are SLO-based practice questions from the library masters, with the masters' model answers (the English textbook prints no answer keys). The masters explain the unit's skills and themes; they do not reproduce the textbook's lesson text, and neither does this page. The masters follow the SNC English 7 unit list; the book's Review sections are revision pages and are not counted here as separate units. Urdu headings and the Urdu line on the banner are supplied translations for study help — the English textbook prints no Urdu subtitle. یہ نظرثانی شدہ صفحہ اس یونٹ کے موجودہ پنجاب ٹیسٹ لائبریری باب سے بنایا گیا ہے؛ سرکاری کتاب اس تعمیر کے دوران ڈسک پر موجود نہیں تھی۔

1. The Festival of Sacrificeقربانی کا تہوار
🏷 Tags: Eid-ul-Adha, sacrifice, 10 Zil Hajj, Ibrahim, obedience, festival
ENGLISH

Eid-ul-Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice, is celebrated on the 10th of Zil Hajj, at the end of the Hajj pilgrimage. Muslims remember the obedience of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.), who was ready to sacrifice his beloved son Ismail (A.S.) on Allah's command, and how Allah replaced the sacrifice with a ram.

The festival is a lesson in obedience, trust in Allah, and sharing: the sacrificed animal's meat is divided into three parts — for the family, for relatives and friends, and for the poor.

Family share→Relatives share→Poor share
Festival samjho: عید-ال-آدھا, قربانی کا تہوار, 10 Zil Hajj کو Hajj کے اختتام پر منایا جاتا ہے — حضرت ابراہیم (A.S.) کی اطاعت کی یاد میں, جو اپنے بیٹے کی قربانی کے لیے تیار ہو گئے تھے.

2. Hajj and Eid Togetherحج اور عید ایک ساتھ
🏷 Tags: Hajj, Makkah, Arafat, Muzdalifah, Mina, pilgrims, pebbles
ENGLISH

Eid-ul-Adha falls during Hajj, when millions of Muslims gather at Makkah. Pilgrims stand at Arafat, stay at Muzdalifah, and throw pebbles at Mina — acts that retrace the story of Ibrahim (A.S.) and his family.

Muslims who are not on Hajj celebrate at home: they pray the Eid prayer in congregation, wear new or best clothes, visit relatives, and share food and greetings of 'Eid Mubarak'.

3. Vocabulary: Words of the Festivalالفاظ: تہوار کے الفاظ
🏷 Tags: vocabulary, sacrifice, obedience, pilgrimage, congregation, prayer
ENGLISH

Key words: 'sacrifice' (giving up something precious for Allah), 'obedience' (doing what is commanded), 'pilgrimage' (a holy journey) and 'congregation' (people praying together). Students practise them in sentences about their own Eid.

Countable and uncountable nouns appear here: 'three goats' (countable) but 'some meat' (uncountable) — we say 'a piece of meat', not 'a meat'.

اردو

اہم الفاظ: 'sacrifice' (اللہ کے لیے قیمتی چیز قربان کرنا)، 'obedience' (حکم ماننا)، 'pilgrimage' (مقدس سفر) اور 'congregation' (لوگوں کا مل کر نماز پڑھنا)۔ طلبہ انہیں اپنی عید کے بارے میں جملوں میں استعمال کرتے ہیں۔

قابل شمار اور ناقابل شمار اسم یہاں آتے ہیں: 'three goats' (قابل شمار) لیکن 'some meat' (ناقابل شمار) — ہم 'a piece of meat' کہتے ہیں، 'a meat' نہیں۔

Countable: goatsUncountable: meata piece of meatsome rice
الفاظ سمجھو: Sacrifice (اللہ کے لیے قیمتی چیز دینا), obedience (hukm manna), pilgrimage (muqaddas safar), congregation (ایک ساتھ نماز پڑھنے والے) — لفظ پہلے مطلب سے, پھر اپنے جملے میں.
قابل شمار اور ناقابل شمار اسم۔
4. Grammar Focus: Countable and Uncountable Nounsگرامر: قابل شمار اور ناقابل شمار اسم
🏷 Tags: nouns, countable, uncountable, many, much, few, little, goat, water
ENGLISH

Countable nouns can be counted (one goat, two goats) and take 'many' and 'a few'. Uncountable nouns cannot be counted (water, meat, happiness) and take 'much' and 'a little': 'much water', 'a little meat'.

Common mistakes: 'many meats' is wrong; say 'much meat' or 'many pieces of meat'. 'Fewer' is for countable ('fewer guests'), 'less' for uncountable ('less sugar').

اردو

قابل شمار اسم گنے جا سکتے ہیں (one goat, two goats) اور ان کے ساتھ 'many' اور 'a few' آتے ہیں۔ ناقابل شمار اسم نہیں گنے جا سکتے (water, meat, happiness) اور ان کے ساتھ 'much' اور 'a little' آتے ہیں: 'much water'، 'a little meat'۔

عام غلطیاں: 'many meats' غلط ہے؛ 'much meat' یا 'many pieces of meat' کہیں۔ 'Fewer' قابل شمار کے لیے ('fewer guests') اور 'less' ناقابل شمار کے لیے ('less sugar')۔

many goats→much meat→a few guests↓a little sugar
Nouns samjho: Countable گنے جا سکتے ہیں (one goat, two goats; many, a few) — uncountable نہیں (water, meat, happiness; much, a little) — 'much water' ٹھیک ہے, 'many water' نہیں.
Many/much، few/little۔
5. The Spirit of Eidعید کی روح
🏷 Tags: spirit, gratitude, forgiveness, poor, meat shares, Eid day
ENGLISH

Eid is not only new clothes and good food. Its spirit is gratitude to Allah, forgiveness between people, and care for the poor — the meat shares make sure poor families also eat well on Eid day.

Students are asked to write about their own Eid: who they visited, what they shared, and one person they forgave or helped. A festival remembered only as food misses its meaning.

Gratitude→Forgiveness→Sharing↓Joy
Rooh samjho: عید صرف نئے کپڑے اور اچھا کھانا نہیں — اللہ کا شکر, لوگوں کے درمیان معافی, اور غریبوں کا خیال; گوشت کے تین حصے یہ یقینی بناتے ہیں کہ غریب گھر بھی عید پر اچھا کھائیں.

SHORT QUESTIONS

Short Q1: Why is Eid-ul-Adha called the Festival of Sacrifice?

عید الاضحیٰ کو قربانی کا تہوار کیوں کہتے ہیں؟

Answer / جواب

Because it remembers Ibrahim's (A.S.) readiness to sacrifice and Muslims sacrifice an animal following his example.

کیونکہ یہ حضرت ابراہیم علیہ السلام کی قربانی کی آمادگی کو یاد کرتی ہے اور مسلمان ان کی مثال پر جانور قربان کرتے ہیں۔

Short Q2: Correct the sentence: 'We have many meats for Eid.'

جملہ درست کریں: 'We have many meats for Eid.'

Answer / جواب

We have much meat for Eid. / We have many pieces of meat for Eid.

We have much meat for Eid. / We have many pieces of meat for Eid. (meat ناقابل شمار ہے)

Short Q3: What do pilgrims do at Arafat?

حاجی عرفات میں کیا کرتے ہیں؟

Answer / جواب

They stand in prayer and worship — the most important rite of Hajj.

وہ دعا اور عبادت میں ٹھہرتے ہیں — حج کا سب سے اہم رکن۔

LONG QUESTIONS

Long Q1: Describe how your family celebrates Eid-ul-Adha, including the three shares of meat.

بیان کریں کہ آپ کا خاندان عید الاضحیٰ کیسے مناتا ہے، گوشت کے تین حصوں سمیت۔

Answer / جواب

A good answer covers Eid prayer, the sacrifice, the three shares (family, relatives/friends, poor), visits, and greetings — showing the festival's spirit of sharing.

اچھا جواب عید کی نماز، قربانی، تین حصوں (خاندان، رشتہ دار/دوست، غریب)، ملاقاتوں اور مبارکباد کا احاطہ کرتا ہے — بانٹنے کی روح دکھاتا ہے۔

Long Q2: Why does sharing meat with the poor matter more than the feast itself?

غریبوں سے گوشت بانٹنا دعوت سے زیادہ کیوں اہم ہے؟

Answer / جواب

Because the sacrifice is about obedience and care, not eating: sharing makes sure everyone, rich or poor, celebrates Eid with dignity.

کیونکہ قربانی اطاعت اور دیکھ بھال کے بارے میں ہے، کھانے کے بارے میں نہیں: بانٹنا یقینی بناتا ہے کہ امیر یا غریب، سب عزت سے عید منائیں۔

THINK & ANSWER

Think! 1: A classmate wastes a lot of food on Eid. What would you say, using the lesson's message?

ایک ہم جماعت عید پر بہت کھانا ضائع کرتا ہے۔ سبق کے پیغام سے آپ کیا کہیں گے؟

Answer / جواب

Eid teaches sharing and gratitude, not waste: food saved or shared with a poor neighbour honours the sacrifice far more than a full dustbin.

عید بانٹنا اور شکر سکھاتی ہے، ضیاع نہیں: بچا یا غریب پڑوسی سے بانٹا کھانا قربانی کی عزت دعوت سے زیادہ کرتا ہے، بھرا کوڑے دان نہیں۔
