Adaab-e-muashrat are the manners that make living together pleasant: greeting, speaking politely, respecting elders, keeping promises, and caring for neighbours. Islam calls the Prophet ﷺ an 'uswa-e-hasna' — an excellent model of conduct.
The lesson roots etiquette in the Quranic verse 'Laqad kana lakum fi Rasoolillahi uswatun hasanah' — 'You have an excellent example in the Messenger of Allah.'
The lesson names the foundations of Islamic society: piety (taqwa), brotherhood, justice, sacrifice, and protection of life, property and honour. When these stand, society is peaceful; when they fall, it is not.
Islam gave women rights Islam's Arabia had denied: inheritance shares and an end to pre-Islamic practices like female infanticide. Etiquette, in this lesson, is not decoration — it is justice in daily dress.
A hadith from Sahih Bukhari teaches equal justice: earlier nations were destroyed because they punished the weak for a crime but excused the powerful for the same crime. Justice that bends for power is not justice.
Students learn to apply this at school: the same rule for the monitor and the new student, the same punishment for the same mistake, whoever makes it.
Daily manners from the lesson: greet with salam, speak softly, do not interrupt, eat with the right hand and share food, visit the sick, congratulate the happy, and console the sad.
Cleanliness is also etiquette: clean clothes, clean classroom, and not littering the street. A person with good manners makes every room better by entering it.
Manners are the oil of society: without them, even good people grind against each other. A polite student learns more (teachers love teaching them), keeps more friends, and is trusted sooner.
The lesson ends with a challenge: practice one new manner every week — this week, greet every teacher by name; next week, never interrupt anyone.

an excellent model (uswa-e-hasna) — 'Laqad kana lakum fi Rasoolillahi uswatun hasanah' — an excellent example.
Inheritance shares and end of female infanticide — Islam gave inheritance shares and ended pre-Islamic female infanticide.
punished the weak but excused the powerful — Unequal justice — punishing the weak, excusing the powerful — destroyed them.
Wealth of kings — Foundations named: piety, brotherhood, justice, sacrifice, protection of life, property and honour.
greeting teachers politely — Polite greeting, soft speech and not interrupting are core manners.
An excellent model of conduct — the Prophet ﷺ as the perfect example to follow.
Piety, brotherhood, justice, and protection of life, property and honour (with sacrifice).
Any two: greeting with salam, speaking softly, not interrupting, visiting the sick, keeping clean.
If the monitor and a new student both break the same rule, both must face the same consequence; excusing the monitor because of position repeats the injustice that destroyed earlier nations.
Because manners are justice made small and daily: giving everyone equal respect, equal turns to speak, and equal care — the same justice that courts practice, practiced at home and school.
That fairness means the same rule for everyone, as the lesson's hadith teaches, and that a fair seating plan would help the whole class trust the monitor.
Manners are the oil of society: without them, even good people grind against each other. A polite student learns more (teachers love teaching them), keeps more friends, and is trusted sooner.
