1. Germs That Make Us Ill
🏷 Tags: pathogens, bacteria, virus, fungi, protozoa, typhoid, malaria, infection
ENGLISH

Tiny organisms called pathogens cause infectious disease: bacteria (e.g. typhoid), viruses (e.g. flu, measles), fungi (e.g. ringworm) and protozoa (e.g. malaria). They enter through air, water, food, cuts or insect bites.

Not every germ makes you ill — illness depends on the germ, the dose, and how strong your body's defences are. Good hygiene breaks the chain of infection.

Bacteria→Viruses→Fungi↓Protozoa
2. The Body's Defences
🏷 Tags: first line defence, skin, mucus, white cells, fever, antibodies, immunity, memory
ENGLISH

The body defends itself in layers. First line: skin, nose hairs, mucus and stomach acid block germs. Second line: white blood cells engulf germs and fever slows their growth. Third line: the immune system makes antibodies that recognise and destroy specific germs.

After beating a germ once, the body often remembers it, so a second attack is fought off faster — this is immunity.

Skin barrier→White cells→Antibodies↓Memory
3. Vaccination — Training the Immune System
🏷 Tags: vaccination, weakened germ, antibodies, polio, measles, community protection
ENGLISH

A vaccine gives the body a weakened or dead germ (or a harmless part of it) so it learns to make antibodies without suffering the full disease. Later, if the real germ arrives, the body is ready.

Childhood vaccines protect against polio, measles, tetanus, hepatitis and more. Vaccination protects not only you but also babies and sick people who cannot be vaccinated — community protection.

Weakened germ→Antibodies made→Memory kept↓Real germ beaten
4. Communicable and Non-Communicable Diseases
🏷 Tags: communicable diseases, non-communicable diseases, diabetes, TB, cholera
ENGLISH

Communicable diseases spread from person to person (flu, TB, cholera, COVID-19) through air, water, food or contact. They can often be prevented by hygiene, clean water and vaccination.

Non-communicable diseases do not spread (diabetes, heart disease, many cancers). They are linked to genes, diet, inactivity and smoking, and are managed with medicine and healthy habits.

Flu spreadsTB spreadsDiabetes no spreadHeart disease no spread
Do qisam ki bimarian samjho:
5. Preventing Disease in Daily Lifeروزمرہ زندگی میں بیماری سے بچاؤ
🏷 Tags: prevention, hand washing, clean water, mosquito nets, antibiotics, hygiene
ENGLISH

Simple habits prevent most infections: wash hands with soap, drink clean/boiled water, cover coughs, keep wounds clean, and sleep under mosquito nets where malaria occurs. Keep vaccinations up to date.

Eat a balanced diet, exercise, and sleep well — a healthy body fights germs better. Take medicines only as prescribed; do not demand antibiotics for viral colds.

Clean hands→Clean water→Vaccines↓Healthy habits
