1. What Is Corruption?

ENGLISH

Corruption (bad-unwani) means misusing one's position or authority for personal gain. The lesson lists its forms: bribery, favouritism, embezzlement of public funds, and dishonesty in trade — including dishonest weighing.

Corruption is not only for the rich and powerful: a student who bribes for marks, a shopkeeper who cheats in weighing, and an officer who takes a bribe all practice the same disease at different scales.

Bribery→Favouritism→Embezzlement↓Dishonest weighing
Corruption ka Khatma se samjho: Forms of corruption.
2. The Quran and Hadith on Dishonesty

ENGLISH

The lesson quotes Surah Al-Mutaffifin, which warns against those who cheat in measurement: they demand full measure when buying but give short measure when selling. The Surah calls them to remember the Day of Judgement.

A hadith adds: an honest and trustworthy trader will be with the prophets, the truthful and the martyrs on the Day of Judgement. Honest trade is not only business — it is worship.

3. How Corruption Harms Everyone
🏷 Tags: Corruption and Its End, How Corruption Harms Everyone, Class 7 Urdu, Chapter 15

ENGLISH

Corruption steals twice: it takes money meant for roads, schools and hospitals, and it teaches citizens that rules do not matter. A road built with bribes washes away in the first rain; a hospital without medicines loses patients.

It also breaks trust: when people believe every officer can be bought, they stop believing in the country itself. That loss of trust is corruption's deepest damage.

Money stolen→Roads wash away→Trust broken↓Country weakened
Corruption ka Khatma se samjho: Harm of corruption.
4. Where the Fight Begins: At Home
🏷 Tags: Corruption and Its End, Where the Fight Begins: At Home, Class 7 Urdu, Chapter 15

ENGLISH

The lesson stresses that fighting corruption starts at home, through honesty in one's own dealings and income. A child who cheats in exams, a family that pays a bribe for a quick licence, and a shopkeeper who tampers with scales all feed the same system.

Small honesty is the seed of national honesty: honest weighing in one shop, honest marking in one class, honest billing in one office — repeated a thousand times, they become a clean country.

Honest exams→Honest weighing→Honest billing↓Clean country
Corruption ka Khatma se samjho: Fight begins at home.
5. Ending Corruption: Everyone's Duty
🏷 Tags: Corruption and Its End, Ending Corruption: Everyone's Duty, Class 7 Urdu, Chapter 15

ENGLISH

Ending corruption needs laws and honest officers, but also citizens who refuse to pay bribes, demand receipts, report corruption, and vote for honest candidates. A bribe needs two hands: the giver's and the taker's. Refusing to give is half the cure.

Students' part: never cheat, never pay for marks, and praise honesty loudly — a class that honours honesty makes cheating shameful.

Refuse bribes→Demand receipts→Report corruption↓Honour honesty
Corruption ka Khatma se samjho: Ending corruption.

Short Answer Questions
QUESTIONS + ANSWERS
Short Q1: Give three examples of corruption at different scales.

Any three: student bribing for marks, shopkeeper cheating in weighing, officer taking a bribe, embezzling public funds.

Short Q2: What does Surah Al-Mutaffifin warn against?

Cheating in measurement: demanding full measure when buying but giving short measure when selling.

Short Q3: Why is refusing to GIVE a bribe half the cure?

Because a bribe needs two hands — giver and taker; if citizens refuse to give, the market for bribes shrinks.

Long Answer Questions
QUESTIONS + ANSWERS
Long Q1: Explain how corruption in road-building harms ordinary people, step by step.

Bribes take money meant for materials → the road is built weakly → it washes away in the first rain → people lose transport, ambulances are delayed, and public money must be spent again.

Long Q2: Your class honours honesty: design a class rule that makes cheating shameful and honesty proud.

A good rule praises honest effort publicly (e.g. 'honesty star' of the week), treats cheating as a class matter discussed openly, and rewards improvement honestly earned.

Think & Answer
QUESTIONS + ANSWERS
Think! 1: A shopkeeper friend says 'everyone cheats a little in weighing; it is normal'. Answer using the Surah and the lesson.

Surah Al-Mutaffifin warns exactly this 'little' cheating and links it to the Day of Judgement; and 'everyone does it' does not make it right — small dishonesty, repeated everywhere, is what makes a whole country corrupt.
